Self Portrait

Hi,

I'm Celeene!

I am a Mexican American, born and raised in Los Angeles. I took up photography as a hobby a few years ago and turned it into a way to display Los Angeles and México the way I've experienced it. I do not sell all of my photography, so if you'd like to see more photos, check out my Instagram (@cgo_photos)!

I began photographing my surroundings more consistently during the pandemic. My family and I missed the days when we'd go on roadtrips and visit different places around the L.A. area. We decided to go for drives around L.A. as a way to get out of the house but stay safe. I started bringing my camera along and taking photos from the backseat.

My love for México runs deep. I used to travel to Jalisco every few years. I looked forward to it every time. I love to talk to people about my culture any chance I get. Showcasing its beauty through photos is rewarding and I can't wait to go back!

I recently graduated from CSULA with a bachelors in Biology. I am currently a veterinarian assistant and plan on applying to vet school soon. Photography and editing photos has been a source of calm during stressful semesters.

I wouldn't say there is a certain type of photography that I adhere to. I have never taken a photography class and I do not consider myself a professional. For this reason, I do not conduct photoshoots. I'm learning and just having fun!
